A history and a myth

Concerning 3 Valleys his verdict was the following one: " he exists in Savoy, an exceptional site was constituted by three valleys appreciably parallel: Saint Well, Allues and Belleville. In spite of their different characteristics, they lend themselves to the installation of important stations(resorts).
Slopes are magnificent, very well exposed(explained), the small dangers of avalanches, easily localized, thus easy to adorn. " The legend of 3 Valleys had been born ".  


The creation of the fixed package 3 Valleys
Until 1970, every developer of skilifts is independent. The skier who decides to go through 3 Valleys has to get himself tickets with several societies: he wishes a simplification and dreams about a subscription about 3 Valleys.  

In 1971, Joseph FONTANET, Minister and Mayor of Saint Martin de Belleville, Eugêne BLANCHE, Mayor of Allues, and Maurice MOREL, Mayor of Saint-Bon, assisted the Directors of Tourist offices make the decision to promote the concept and the label " 3 Valleys ".  

They also suggest to the developers of skilifts to create a fixed package " 3 Valleys ". This proposition receives an enthusiastic reception: from summer, 1971, a complete range of fixed prices 3 Valleys is adopted.
